Two Days Left to Sign Up for Virtual Education Session on Sales and Bestseller Reporting
This fall during the regional trade shows, the American Booksellers Association will present a new education session focusing on how indie bookstores can report their online and in-store sales and bestsellers.
“Why Sales and Bestseller List Reporting Is Vital in 2020,” a virtual presentation, will look at the increase of online sales in the indie channel this year and why it has become more important than ever to report to the Indie Bestseller Lists and the New York Times bestseller lists, which are vital to showing the extent of the indie reach.
The session will be presented twice; booksellers from all regions are invited to join either presentation:
- Tuesday, September 29, from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. ET
- Friday, October 2, from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. ET
Booksellers can sign up now. The deadline to register is September 25.
The first half of the event will look at what reporting means, how to report, and what to report. Afterward, booksellers will join breakout groups based on their POS vendor to talk with fellow booksellers about how best to report through their system.
Booksellers can break out into groups to discuss the following POS systems: IBID, IBID/ie, Anthology, Basil, Bookmanager, Booklog, Wordstock, Square, and iMRCHNT.
In addition, the IndieCommerce team will be presenting an education session during the fall regional shows, where booksellers can learn about new features on the IndieCommerce and IndieLite e-commerce platforms. In preparation for the upcoming holiday shopping season, the IndieCommerce team will provide an overview of the new features, including Bulk Order Processing, Credit Card Processing, Custom Reports, POS integration, Sidelines, Wish Lists/Gift Registry, and more. See date and time details below, as well as notes on how to register (no sessions will be offered at Heartland or PNBA).
