NBF’s Literature for Justice Program to Hold Virtual Launch on December 2
Literature for Justice, a program of the National Book Foundation (NBF) supported by the Art for Justice Fund, is a book-based campaign that highlights annual reading lists on the topic of mass incarceration.
For the program’s third and final year, the 2020-2021 Literature for Justice Committee selected seven titles. These selections aim to further investigate the carceral system, centralizing the voices of those directly affected by incarceration and expanding outwards to offer context and inform a broader understanding of the system’s history with conquest, colonization, and globalization.
See the reading lists for all three years here.
A free launch event, “Literature for Justice: A Path Forward,” will take place on Wednesday, December 2, at 3:00 p.m. ET. Booksellers are invited to attend and share information about the event with their customers. RSVP here. Questions can be sent to NBF’s Natalie Green.
