Celebrating Pride at Indie Bookstores
Indie booksellers are breaking out the rainbows to mark Pride Month. Here are just a few of the many snapshots of displays and events shared by booksellers on social media.
Books & Mortar: “This rainbow flag represents more than liberation for LGBTQ persons. It hangs in our window to remind us that there is still so much more work to be done to liberate bodies from the systemic, institutional and cultural powers that bind and oppress. We celebrate Pride Month with gratitude for those who have paved our way and look forward, with a steady gaze, to participating in the work that still needs to be done. Our work is not over until every body is liberated.”
