Nominations for the 2020 PW Bookstore of the Year and PW Sales Rep of the Year awards are due January 6.
Peterson’s Publishing has acquired Barron’s Educational Series (B.E.S.) Publishing, Inc., which includes more than 800 children’s, lifestyle, and hobby titles; Two Rivers Distribution, an Ingram brand, began selling and distributing the list globally on November 1.
Bloomsbury has acquired Oberon Books.
Author Dav Pilkey has been named Publishers Weekly’s Person of the Year for 2019.
Malcolm Margolin, founder of Heyday Books, has been named the winner of PubWest’s 2020 Jack D. Rittenhouse Award.
Carol Moyer of Quail Ridge Books in Raleigh, North Carolina, and Todd Ketcham of the Book Cellar in Lake Worth, Florida, have been named the winners of the Nancy Olson Bookseller Award.
Twenty titles from 18 countries and in 11 languages have been selected for PEN Translates awards on the basis of outstanding literary quality, strength of the publishing project, and their contribution to U.K. bibliodiversity.
