Here’s what’s happening this week in the book industry:

In Australia, two major online book retailers initially blocked sales of Ronan Farrow’s new book following legal threats from a former National Enquirer editor, the New York Times reported. But Amazon Australia ultimately reversed this and began sales of Farrow’s book the following week.

Consortium Book Sales & Distribution has announced six new publishers for the spring 2020 season: Black Dog Press and Artifice Press, Bloodaxe Books, Blue Dot Kids Press, Buño Books, Inhabit Education Books, and Street Noise Books.

Simon & Schuster has entered into a distribution agreement with U.K. independent publisher Oneworld Publications. S&S will handle sales and distribution to markets and territories in North America for the publisher effective November 1.

Two Rivers Distribution will distribute David and Charles Ltd. in North America. The distribution deal was effective September 2019 and covers both print and e-book titles.

Current editorial director at HarperCollins’ Ecco imprint Megan Lynch will join Flatiron Books as senior vice president and publisher on November 4.

Elina Vaysbeyn has joined Shambhala Publications as sales and marketing director. Vaysbeyn was most recently associate marketing director at Dutton.

Heads of the Colored People by Nafissa Thompson-Spires was awarded the fiction prize at the 2019 Hurston/Wright Foundation’s annual Legacy Awards on October 18, in Washington, D.C.

Finalists have been unveiled for the $75,000 Cundill History Prize. The winner of the prize, administered by McGill University in Montreal, will be named November 14.

The Baillie Gifford Prize for Nonfiction announced its shortlist, with the winner to be announced on November 19.
