August 11 ABA Coffee Break to Focus on Current Wage and Labor Requirements
Booksellers are invited to join the American Booksellers Association for a Coffee Break that has been programmed to focus on wage and labor requirements for bookstores as some states place COVID-19-related quarantine mandates on people entering from out-of-state.
This session will take place from 3:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. ET on Tuesday, August 11. Guest speakers will include Tom Jardim and Scott Salmon, experts in employment and labor law from the law firm Jardim, Meisner & Susser, P.C, and Stephanie Steinberg, human resources director at Hachette Book Group.
Jardim and Salmon participated in ABA’s government relief webinar in April 2020. Jardim is a partner at Jardim, Meisner & Susser, P.C., where he specializes in civil litigation, employment and labor law, and governmental representation. Salmon is counsel at Jardim, Meisner & Susser, P.C., and specializes in civil litigation, employment and labor law, and governmental representation.
Steinberg was a panelist for the “Introduction to Employee Manuals Workshop” at ABA’s 15th annual Winter Institute in January 2020, where she spoke about stores’ policies and procedures, as well as employees’ legal rights and obligations. Steinberg also spoke at NAIBA’s conference in 2019.
Following the presentation, booksellers will have the opportunity to ask the panelists questions.
Those interested in attending on August 11 who do not already have the Coffee Break meeting credentials should email [email protected] for that information. For those unable to attend, a recording of the webinar will be posted on BookWeb.org under the Education section.
