Children’s Bookselling

Booksellers, authors, publishers, and guests will meet up in virtual rooms to connect during this (socially distant) party.

During the session, Alexander and Craft will discuss their careers as writers, their lives as readers, and their experiences being two of only five Black authors to win Newbery Awards.

Many booksellers are waitlisted for this workshop; registered booksellers who cannot attend should let ABA know by the end of the day on July 9 so waiting booksellers can take their place.

The Expo section of the event offers an area for booksellers to meet with vendors, including the Book Industry Charitable Foundation, Booklog, Drag Queen Story Hour, and We Need Diverse Books.

Sponsors include point-of-sale solutions, audiobook and e-book providers, and more.

This workshop focuses on the self-awareness, knowledge of historic and current racism, and skills necessary for white people to learn together. 

The July 15–16 virtual event is open to all ABA member booksellers and costs $20.

The catalog will feature frontlist titles published in the year 2020, but will not include holiday books so that the catalog may be used year-round.
